Chiropractic Manipulation
Chiropractic manipulation, commonly referred to as adjustments, is a key tool in helping restore movement to joints which may be feeling “stuck” and not moving as well as they should be. It helps to restore motion, decrease pain and may improve function of the nervous system. Chiropractic manipulation is not “one size fits all” and can range in application, from what many see on youtube, the HVLA (high-velocity low-amplitude) which produce the “snap” and “pop” similar to cracking your knuckles, to more gentle techniques such as Cox Flexion/distraction which utilize a lower velocity, variable amplitude method of restoring motion to the joints.
Cox® Technic Flexion/Distraction
Cox® Technic flexion/distraction is a method of gentle spinal manipulation, developed to relieve pressure on the nerves exiting the cervical and lumbar spine, as well as reducing pressure within the associated intervertebral discs. It has also been found to be effective for treating other conditions, such as:
- Lumbar disc herniation
- Cervical disc herniation
- Radiculopathy
- Leg, Neck and Arm Pain
- Spinal stenosis
- Facet syndrome
- Degenerative Disc Disease
- Post-Surgical Continued Pain or Failed Back Surgical Syndrome
